SCT offers two opportunities for scholarships to the SCT 2012 Annual Meeting (May 20-23, Miami, FL).
Entries for both scholarship programs are handled by the SCT online abstract submission form, found at http://www.sctweb.org/abs/intro.cfm.
SCT Thomas C. Chalmers Student Scholarship
Who is Eligible:
Students enrolled in a degree program of an accredited college or university, or post-doctoral fellows.
Appropriate topics for Submission:
All clinical trial-related issues such as study design and data analysis methods; meta-analysis; medical, ethical or legal issues; data entry, management, and computing as it relates to clinical trials; review of the results or methods of a class of trials; or scholarship in the history of clinical trials. Important papers illustrating applications are particularly encouraged.
How to Apply:
Visit the online submission form at www.sctweb.org/abs/. Submit an abstract accompanied by a 3-5 page short manuscript (not including tables, figures or bibliography). Then, as a second, separate step, email that manuscript and a letter from the student's advisor confirming status as a full-time student to sct@fernley.com. Indicate that your submission is for the Thomas C. Chalmers Student Scholarship. Submission deadline: December 1, 2011. NOTE: One entry per candidate.
What the Three Finalists and One Winner Receive:
Three students will be designated Thomas C. Chalmers Student Scholarship Finalists and will receive travel and hotel expense support in order to present their papers at the 2012 SCT meeting in Miami, Florida. From among the three finalists, the Thomas C. Chalmers Student Scholarship Award and a $500 cash prize will be awarded to the student judged to have the best paper.
SCT Sylvan Green Award
Who is Eligible:
Physicians and Dentists involved in clinical trials or epidemiology projects.
Appropriate topics for Submission:
All clinical trial-related issues such as study design and data analysis methods; meta-analysis; medical, ethical or legal issues; data entry, management, and computing as it relates to clinical trials; review of the results or methods of a class of trials; or scholarship in the history of clinical trials. Important papers illustrating applications are particularly encouraged.
How to Apply:
Submit an abstract on the online abstract submission form at www.sctweb.org/abs/. Be sure to indicate that your submission is for the Sylvan Green Award. Submission deadline: December 1, 2011. NOTE: one entry per candidate.
What the Winner Receives:
The winner will receive a scholarship covering travel and hotel expenses to present at the 2012 SCT meeting in Miami.
