2010 SCT Fellow: Stan Shapiro
 Stan is currently a Professor of Epidemiology and Biostatistics at McGill University and has taught the clinical trials course there for many years. Stan has participated in many trials, two of which won awards, the WHO 50th Anniversary Award for the PROBIT Clinical Trial, and the International Epilepsy Leagues award for best clinical trial involving an antiepileptic drug. Stan has been involved in all aspects of clinical trials, including serving on multiple data and safety monitoring boards, the Canadian HIV Trials Network Safety and Efficacy Review Committee, The Canadian Institutes for Health Research DSMB Working Group and Health Canada National Placebo Working Group. Finally, Stan has been a long-time, active member of SCT including serving on the Board of Directors, the Publications Committee, and the Nominating Committee.
