2008 SCT Fellow: Joerg Hasford
He has been a leader in the field of cancer leukemia clinical trial research. Together with his coworkers, he developed and validated a prognostic model for chronic myeloid leukemia that is named for him by pooling individual patient data of many trials and prospective studies from around the world.
He has contributed significantly to the standards of clinical trials in CML and AML in the German and European Leukemia Networks.
He has been very influential in the study of safety of drugs and pharmacoepidemiology.
He was one of the first biostatisticians to look at reliably compiled drug dosing history data in light of pharmacometric consequences.
He developed new quantitative indices and tailored interventions to improve adherence in RCTs.
