2008 SCT Fellow: Jean-Pierre Boissel
 He played a pivotal role in the formative years of the Society before its actual creation and in the decade following its creation. His presence and participation in early meetings of the Society helped give the Society reach beyond the U.S.
He has been a contributor to clinical trials for over three decades and has been one of the leading clinical trialists for Europe in cardiovascular disease and cancer for many years.
He was the initiator of several meta-analyses and pooled databases of clinical trials and created the French Cochrane Center.
Together with Marc Buyse, he was instrumental in bringing about the 1991 joint meeting of SCT and ISCB.
