2006 SCT Fellow: Paul Meier

One of the foremost role models in the field of clinical trials, known equally for discovering our most popular method of estimating survival functions from continuously observed data, and for his role in the polio vaccine trial of the 1950s -- arguably the project that put randomized trials on the map in this country, founding member of the Society’s Board of Directors and past president of the Society.
